The progress in flexible and neuromorphic electronics technologies has facilitated the development of artificial perception systems. By closely emulating biological functions, these systems are at forefront revolutionizing intelligent robotics refining dynamics human–machine interactions. Among these, tactile sensory stand out for their ability to replicate intricate architecture processing mechanisms brain. This replication not only facilitates remarkable computational efficiency but also equips devices with efficient real-time data-processing capability, which is a cornerstone intelligence evolution interface enhancement. Herein, we highlight recent advancements designed mimic functionalities human system, critical component somatosensory functions. After discussing sensors biomimic mechanoreceptors, insights provided integrate synapses neural networks advanced information recognition emphasizing sophistication integrated system. It showcases biomimicry, extending beyond replicating physical properties skin biomimicking sensations efferent/afferent nerve These developments demonstrate significant potential creating sensitive, adaptive, plastic, memory-capable human-centric applications. Moreover, this review addresses impact skin-related diseases on research toward developing motor aiming restore reception perceptual challenged individuals. concludes an overview state-of-the-art biomimetic based manufacturing–structure–property–performance relationships, from mimicking mechanoreceptor functions systems, underscoring promising future sensing device innovation.
