Converting CO2 into valuable chemicals is an effective way to alleviate the high level of global CO2. The cycloaddition reaction and propylene oxide (PO) has atomic economy advantage environmental friendliness compared with traditional phosgene method carbonate (PC). Due chemical inertness CO2, catalysts are needed make proceed smoothly. Through rational design, a multifunctional catalyst that combines activation sites attack PO adsorption can be formed. At same time, use harmful substances reduced by making catalytic process more environmentally friendly. In this work, we discuss research progress synthesis PC from PO. Starting mechanism, system summarized perspective design. homogeneous catalysts, focus on effect composition performance. heterogeneous heterogenization (preparation methods), including supported, confined, polymerized catalysts. addition, promising photocatalysis biomass catalysis especially introduced. Finally, in order experimental results move toward industrial production, several problems existing industrialization discussed, production equipment, influence source, product/catalyst separation.

Tailor-made unsaturated coordination of metal ions or organic linkers in zeolitic imidazole frameworks (ZIFs) has great potential tuning the ZIFs' properties and reactivity for their applications. Taking advantage solid-state thermal (SST) method as a facile eco-friendly synthesis method, rational with ligands ZIF-67 through SST is investigated. The precursor ratio (metal-to-ligand source) under solvent-free emerges perfect strategy to tune coordinately sites within frameworks. CO 2 chemical fixation offers a feasible approach for carbon mitigation and high‐value utilization, but it is still challenging to develop an efficient catalyst conversion into cyclic carbonate. Herein, the triethylenediamine‐derived dicationic ionic liquids (DIL‐X, X = Cl, Br, I) were grafted UiO‐66 linkers through self‐assembly of Zr 4+ ions mixed ligands terephthalic acid DIL‐bearing dicarboxylic acid, resulting in UiO‐66‐DIL‐X n , ( designated as molar amount feeding DIL‐X). Their catalytic performance was evaluated by epoxide cycloaddition reaction absence solvent cocatalyst. Among them, UiO‐66‐DIL‐Cl 0.4 exhibited outstanding performance, with chloropropene carbonate yield 92% high selectivity 99% under 0.1 MPa at 110 °C 16 h. Its activity could be ascribed cooperativity among Lewis acidity MOF nodes, enhanced absorption, strong nucleophilicity offered halogen liquid‐modified MOF. Moreover, presented excellent recyclability substrate extension. A potential mechanism epoxide‐CO has been proposed. This work will shed light on rational design functionalized MOFs‐based catalysts CO₂ utilization.
