The growing demand for alkali metals (AMs), such as lithium, cesium, and rubidium, related to their wide application across various industries (e.g., electronics, medicine, aerospace, etc.) the limited resources of naturally occurring ores, has led an increased interest in methods recovery from secondary sources brines, wastewater, waste leachates). One dynamically developing research directions field separation AMs ions aqueous solutions is search novel, efficient, “green” materials that could be used adsorption processes, also on a larger industrial scale. This review concerns latest achievements (mainly 2023 2024) development innovative ion sieves, aluminum-based adsorbents, mineral composites, resins) Li+, Cs+, Rb+ solutions, with particular emphasis most important advantages limitations, well potential impact environment.
