Abstract Recently, 2D colloidal semiconductors have emerged as a promising candidate for solar‐harvesting applications. A comprehensive understanding of the light‐harvesting characteristics and dynamics photogenerated charge carriers is crucial enhancing their optoelectronic performance. Here, we successfully synthesized ultrathin ZnIn 2 S 4 nanosheets using hot‐injection method subsequently explored photophysical properties this ternary material by means transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy. The trap‐mediated recombination were observed nanosheets. Energy‐dependent TA studies unravelled presence Auger processes. With help temperature‐dependent spectroscopy, investigate strong influence electron‐phonon coupling on carrier at cryogenic temperatures. This in‐depth study unveils several unexplored phenomena chalcogenide, which will be beneficial designing semiconductor‐based next‐generation devices.
