Abstract Macrolide antibiotics, including erythromycin, clarithromycin, and azithromycin, are frequently misused for human treatment globally. Therefore, they were considered high-risk substances on the Union-wide monitoring Watch list under Regulation 2018/840/EU. The present work investigates adsorption behavior of pharmaceutical pollutants 1,3,5-tris (4-aminophenyl) benzene/2,5 dimethoxyterephthalaldehyde (TAPB-DMTP) covalent organic frameworks (COFs). In this study, we employ molecular dynamics simulations well-tempered metadynamics to evaluate affinity pristine their functionalized form (F-COFs) removal four distinct pollutant molecules (PPMs): erythromycin (EMC), dexamethasone (DEG), azithromycin (AZM), clarithromycin (CMC). In light of growing environmental concerns over emerging contaminants in aquatic environments, antibiotics particular, have prompted the development a new generation effective sonocatalytic systems. this study, type nano-laminated material, Ti2SnC MAX phase, is prepared, characterized, and evaluated for degradation oxytetracycline (OTC) antibiotic. A variety identification analyses, including X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectrometry, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, were conducted to determine physicochemical properties synthesized catalyst. This study presents a sustainable treatment of perfluoroalkyl or polyfluoroalkyl substances in aquatic environments, focusing on perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), through adsorption. The employs response surface methodology to assess the influence adsorbent's synthesis parameters─specifically, quantities calcium, sodium alginate, and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB)─on adsorption efficiency alginate hydrogel. optimally synthesized hydrogel exhibits an average PFOA removal 94.8 ± 2.1% at 50 mg/L concentration. experimental data for closely align with pseudo-second-order rate kinetic model (R2 = 0.97) Sips isotherm 0.99), maximum possible capacity 382.1 mg/g. This study is a preliminary assessment of the emerging and persistent contaminants (EPCs) in ecologically sensitive Kamphuan Stream Southern Thailand. The analysis 15 compounds revealed that EPC concentrations below main community were significantly elevated during rainy season, with highest levels found for sucralose (9070 ng/L), metformin (6250 fexofenadine (5110 gabapentin (3060 ng/L). These spatiotemporal patterns highlight episodic nature contamination driven by urban stormwater runoff, where rainfall events create temporary pathways transport EPCs to streams draining into coastal ecosystems. Maximum three pharmaceuticals (diclofenac, gemfibrozil, ibuprofen), as well sucralose, caffeine, fenobucarb, exceeded general predicted no-effect (PNECs) marine or fresh waters; however, these not persistent. Limited sampling across campaigns constrained ability fully characterize dynamics this issue through statistical inference. Furthermore, risk assessments absence locally derived PNECs tropical ecosystems organisms, along limited standardization PNEC determination methodologies, making definitive conclusions challenging. Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) have been identified as emerging contaminants in water and wastewater. Concerns raised of whether disinfection processes can effectively eliminate ARGs thus mitigate their spread. Due to the different existing forms dissemination pathways, intracellular (iARGs) extracellular (eARGs) responses processes. This review compares elimination iARGs eARGs representative applied at wastewater treatment plants, including by chlorine, chloramine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, ultraviolet irradiation (UV), combination UV with chemicals.
