The treatment of fatty acid industrial wastewater is a significant challenge due to the high content organic and inorganic materials that can pollute environment. One effective methods overcome this problem electrocoagulation. purpose study was analyze effect contact time distance between electrodes in reducing parameters wastewater. In study, used were Aluminum (Al) as Anode Iron (Fe) Cathode. electrocoagulation process carried out using voltage 5 volts with variation 75 minutes, 90 105 minutes 1 cm, 2 3 cm. From it found at cm could raise pH 7.3, reduce COD concentration 70 mg/L, TSS mg/L contained However, levels often change particles have not completely settled, which result sludge contamination when taking test samples.

Abstract Emerging contaminants (ECs), such as pharmaceuticals and pesticides, pose a threat to water resources due their ecological health impacts, even at low concentrations. Conventional wastewater treatment struggles with these persistent compounds. This review comprehensively examined electrocoagulation (EC) multifaceted sustainable solution for EC removal. We introduced the challenges of ECs limitations traditional methods before detailing principles advantages EC: high efficiency across diverse ECs, operational ease, reduced chemical use. Comparative analysis highlights EC's superior performance, broader applicability, lower costs, less sludge, aligning management. The further explored environmental benefits (reduced chemicals sludge), renewable energy integration potential, favorable LCA/TEA findings. elucidated combined removal mechanisms (coagulation, adsorption, oxidation) crucial role parameters, supported by case studies technology. Finally, we addressed (electrode maintenance, scalability) ongoing research development, automation), concluding emerging trends potential mainstream technology clean, treatment.
