Multi-resistant pathogens can cause several nosocomial infections that harm hospital interventions or undermine biological processes. In this scenario, the development of novel and efficient antimicrobial materials is essential to reducing pathogen spread. Though many approaches have been followed with aim, scalability, safety, efficiency concerns still hamper their clinical transfer. work, we overcome these limitations by co-polymerizing phenolic derivatives amino-terminal ligands. The resulting coatings are successfully applied woven non-woven-based used in healthcare: paper, cotton polypropylene. Moreover, demonstrate multi-pathway activity against six bacteria (E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, methicillin-resistant E. faecalis, B. subtilis) two fungi (C. albicans C. auris), a fact attributed i) reactive oxygen species generation over time ii) protic amino groups exposed on surface. After 180 min, viable reduced more than 99.9 %, comparable decline after 24 h. As proof-of-concept, coated commercial band-aids tested skin ex vivo bacterial growth about 90 %. Considering results long-lasting, vitro biocompatibility, scalability eco-friendly technology, represent promising alternative be healthcare environments, avoiding spread, resistance.

Marine biofouling is an important factor that affects the service life of marine equipment. In this work, phenol source capsaicin-mimicking N-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzyl) acrylamide, two amine sources, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) and furfurylamine (FFA), together with paraformaldehyde were used to prepare benzoxazine coatings, P(HA) P(HF). By reaction iodomethane, quaternary ammonium group was introduced into N position oxazine ring. Quaternarily ammonified coatings P(HAI) P(HFI) show exciting antibacterial performance compared untreated coating. The coating exhibited 93.8%, 96.4%, 99.9%, 99.9% killing rates for Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus subtilis, respectively. ammonization treatment also precipitated further enhanced anti-alga activity excellent real-sea antifouling performances. However, introduction ionic groups hindered thermal polymerization benzoxazine, leading more defects on surface, resulting in corrosion resistance poorer than HA HF as detected from electrochemical neutral salt spray experiments. current density P(HF) 2 orders greater coatings. During previous stages of research, high biocidal activity toward microorganism archival strains has been used as the main indicator in development new antiseptic formulations. Abstract Wound infection is a major factor affecting the speed and quality of wound healing.
