Quantum dots (QDs) are the smallest nanomaterials (2-10 nm), with unique optical and electronic properties. Thanks to these properties, QDs have been standing during last years as signal tags for different applications, including bioimaging, fluorescent biosensors electrochemical assays. In this review, we explore current state-of-the art on nanomaterials, differentiating them between semiconductor carbon-based QDs. Also, review focuses their advantages transducers in biosensing platforms.

ABSTRACT In recent years, despite significant advances in preconcentration and preparation techniques that have led to efficient recovery accurate measurement of target compounds. There is still a need develop adsorbents with unique features such as high pore volume surface area, reactivity, easy synthesis, low toxicity, compatibility the environment, which increase adsorption capacity extraction efficiency. Semiconductor nanocrystals called quantum dots (QDs) size less than 10 nm are three‐dimensional nanoparticles spherical, rod, or disc structure potential due their excellent properties environmental friendliness, hydrophilic hydrophobic interactions. One most basic issues development effective and, result, QDs, having an much higher conventional nanomaterials, suitable option for extracting compounds different environments. This work comprehensively reviews QD‐based methods modification strategies QDs based on functional groups, ligands, materials from 2013 2024. addition, applications composites organic inorganic analytes (residues drugs human blood plasma, toxins, pesticides, pollutants chemical industries, heavy metals, etc.) matrices investigated.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a chronic, progressive neurodegenerative disorder marked by permanent impairment of brain function across the whole brain. This condition results in deterioration cognitive patients and frequently associated with psychological symptoms such as agitation anxiety, imposing significant burden on both their families. Nanomaterials possess numerous distinctive physical chemical features that render them extensively utilized. In biomedical domain, nanomaterials can be utilized for prevention therapy, including medication delivery systems, biosensors, tissue engineering. article explores etiology potential molecular processes AD, well application carbon-based diagnosis treatment AD. Some are carbon quantum dots, nanotubes, graphene, among others.
