Herein, porous α-Fe2O3 nanofoam was successfully synthesized and used as a sensing electrode to fabricate yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) mixed-potential hydrogen sulfide (H2S) sensor for real-time monitoring of hazardous H2S gas. The sintering temperature adjusted modify the microstructure material its electrochemical reaction intensity H2S, enhancing sensor's performance. Among tested materials, sintered at 800 °C exhibited highest catalytic activity toward in tests, suggesting suitability YSZ-based sensors. incorporating achieved response -273 mV 10 ppm 625 °C. Moreover, this low detection limit 100 ppt and, within concentration range 0.5-10 ppm, high sensitivity -180.3 mV/decade, outperforming other reported Furthermore, fabricated excellent repeatability, selectivity, long-term stability, indicating potential industrial safety early warnings precise environmental monitoring. This study provides valuable reference designing materials performance gas sensor.
