It is an efficient strategy to construct photocatalysts by integrating the advantages of inorganic semiconductors and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) for H2 generation along with simultaneous oxidation. Herein, inorganic/organic CdS/COF (denoted as TpBD) 2D heterostructure fabricated electrostatic self-assembly method. The ultrathin structure can reduce charge transfer distance, enhance light absorption, multiply reaction sites while S-scheme heterojunction improves separation efficiency. composite acquires outstanding photocatalytic activity 15.1 mmol/g/h, simultaneously convert cheap ascorbic acid value-added 2,3-diketo-L-gulonic acid. Hall effect test elucidates dynamics carrier migration. electron paramagnetic resonance analysis, photo-irradiated Kelvin probe force microscopy, femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy, theoretical calculation, in-situ irradiation X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements confirm superiority transfer. This research presents new inspiration develop hydrogen production green chemical production.

Biomass photorefinery over a sustainable biochar (BC)-based heterojunction provides promising approach to alleviate the worsening environment and energy crisis via hydrogen (H2) valuable chemicals production. Moreover, no related results have been reported. Here, novel BC-supported CdS/TiO2 photocatalyst (CdS/TiO2/BC) was rationally fabricated by simple hydrothermal calcination methods for glucose photoreforming. The selectivity of value-added modulated alteration base type. BC, with large specific surface area outstanding electrical conductivity, employed as carrier heterojunction, which further facilitated light absorption charge separation. as-synthesized CdS/TiO2/BC exhibited excellent acetic acid (63.94%) together improved H2 generation (∼12.77 mmol g–1 h–1) in 25 mM NaOH solution, while efficient formic (60.29%) (∼10.29 were observed 3 Na2CO3 solution. Trapping tests indicated that ·O2– ·OH promoted production acid. This study initiates insight into design environmentally friendly photocatalysts fuel from biomass photorefinery.

Abstract The oxidative degradation of plastics in conjunction with the production clean hydrogen (H 2 ) represents a significant challenge. Herein, Ni 3 S 4 /ZnCdS heterojunction is rationally synthesized and employed for efficient H high‐selectivity value‐added chemicals from waste plastic. By integrating spectroscopic analysis techniques density functional theory (DFT) calculations, solely electron transfer‐mediated reaction mechanism confirmed, wherein extracts electrons ZnCdS (ZCS) to promote spatial segregation photogenerated holes, which not only facilitates but also maintains high oxidation potential holes on ZCS surface, favoring hole‐dominated plastic oxidation. Notably, catalyst exhibited rates as 27.9 17.4 mmol g −1 h , along selectivity 94.2% 78.3% liquid product toward pyruvate acetate polylactic acid (PLA) polyethylene terephthalate (PET), respectively. Additionally, carbon yields 26.5% 2.2% are measured after 9 photoreforming, representing highest values reported date. Overall, this research presents promising approach converting into fuel valuable chemical products, offering solution growing issue “ White Pollution ”.
