Efficient and Selective Removal of Iodine in Aqueous Media Using Morphology-Controlled Porous Hyper-Cross-Linked Polymers

Hyper-cross-linked
polymers
(HCPs)
have
demonstrated
great
potential
for
capture,
catalysis,
drug
delivery,
and
energy
storage
attracted
extensive
research
interest.
Nevertheless,
tuning
their
nanoscale
morphology
remains
a
challenge.
Herein,
we
constructed
series
of
HCPs
(HCP[HaPb])
with
various
morphologies
(nanospheres,
nanorod-like,
flower-like
nanostructures)
by
controlling
the
molar
ratios
monomers
hexakis(benzylthio)benzene
quality.
In
addition,
HCP[H200P3]
rich
nitrogen
sulfur
atoms
showed
fast
adsorption
rate
high
capacity
I3–
in
aqueous
media.
The
reached
98%
within
5
min
at
liquid/solid
ratio
1
mL
mg–1,
saturated
1.388
g
g–1
was
obtained
30
mg–1.
Additionally,
flow-through
experiments
revealed
that
an
impressive
removal
flow
1.0
min–1.
More
importantly,
could
selectively
capture
presence
competing
anions.
This
work
proved
adsorbent
highly
selective
has
good
prospects
practical
application
I3–.

Abstract
This
work
suggests
a
synthetic
strategy
for
the
development
of
durable
metal
oxide
heterogeneous
nanocatalysts
used
conversion
biomass
into
polymer
platforms.
MnO
2
nanowires
are
coated
with
conjugated
microporous
polymers.
Successive
calcination
under
argon
results
in
generation
nanoparticles
confined
within
carbon
tubes
(CTs).
The
resultant
MnO@CTs
show
good
catalytic
performance
transesterification
dimethyl
furan
dicarboxylate
various
diols
to
platforms,
diols.
While
commercial
poor
durability,
due
their
facile
aggregation,
optimal
MnO@CT‐1
shows
excellent
recyclability
and
durability.

Uranium
plays
an
important
role
in
the
modern
nuclear
industry.
However,
such
a
radioactive
element
can
also
cause
severe
damage
to
environment
once
leaked
or
discharged
into
water
air,
having
huge
impact
on
safety
of
biosphere.
In
this
work,
we
pioneered
use
fluorescent
monomers
as
imprinted
units,
which
promoted
fluorescence
emission
material.
A
novel
porous
aromatic
framework
was
obtained
with
uranyl
ion
chelating
sites,
namely
MIPAF-15.
The
unique
N-O
pockets
4-bromo-1-H-indole-7-carboxylic
acid
gave
rise
high
coordination
affinity
toward
ions,
enabled
fast
adsorption
rate
ions
and
capacity
44.88
mg·g−1
at
298
K
initial
pH
value
6.0
concentration
10
ppm.
At
same
time,
quenching
effect
MIPAF-15
observed
upon
its
allowed
selective
detection
limit
5.04
×
10−8
M,
lower
than
maximum
drinking
specified
by
World
Health
Organization
(6.30
M)
United
States
Environmental
Protection
Agency
(1.11
10−7
M).
This
kind
multifunctional
material
produces
favorable
pathway
for
detection,
removal
degeneration
highly
pollutive
promoting
overall
sustainable
development
natural
environment.

Acteoside
(ACT)
is
an
important
medicinal
component,
but
its
content
scarce.
To
obtain
higher
purity
of
ACT,
the
adsorption
method
was
used
to
purify
it.

a
broad-pore-domain
hyper-crosslinked
polymer
(BHP-Kae)
prepared
adsorb
ACT
from
Cistanche
tubulosa,
which
plant.
BHP-Kae-3
possessed
unique
structure.

structure
reduced
transfer
resistance
and
facilitated
rapid
diffusion
into
BHP-Kae-3,
increasing
capacity.

surface
pore
channels
contained
abundant
functional
groups
(-OH,
C=O),
provided
large
number

adsorption,

improving
selectivity.

good
capacity
