Abstract Diverse allylic sulfones are generated through a three‐component reaction of potassium alkyltrifluoroborates, sulfur dioxide and bromides in the presence 9‐mesityl‐10‐methyl acridinium perchlorate under visible light irradiation at room temperature. This transformation proceeds efficiently, broad scope is demonstrated with good functional groups tolerance. initiated by treatment alkyltrifluoroborate visible‐light photocatalyst, leading to alkyl radical. radical intermediate trapped provide alkylsulfonyl radical, which then undergoes further afford corresponding sulfone.

The ionic liquid [HMTH]2H2[SiW12O40] was prepared from the inexpensive, nontoxic vitamin B1-like compound, i.e., 5-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-methylthiazole (HMT), and noncorrosive heteropolyacid (H4SiW12O40). This acidic found to be an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for direct dehydrative coupling of alcohols with (or alkenes) synthesize various polysubstituted olefins in good excellent yields dimethyl carbonate (DMC) as a green solvent. Furthermore, this protocol applicable gram-scale reaction, could used at least 8 runs without significant loss activity.

A simple three-component 1,2-bromoesterification of alkenes with acids and N-bromosuccinimide under electrochemical oxidative conditions is described. This transformation enables the construction β-bromoalkyl esters via C-Br/C-O difunctionalization, where a variety alkenes, including styrenes cycloolefins, were well tolerated to react efficiently wide range acids, such as aromatic aliphatic amino acids.

A copper(ii)-catalyzed aerobic oxidative reaction of arylhydrazines, DABCO·(SO2)2 and alkenes is reported. Diverse β-hydroxysulfones are generated in moderate to good yields through the hydroxysulfonylation with insertion sulfur dioxide under mild conditions. In some cases, β-ketosulfones produced.
