Hydroxide exchange membranes (HEMs) have attracted extensive attention in energy-related fields, such as fuel cells and water electrolysis, primarily due to their suitability for alkaline environments. However, the practical application of is hindered significantly by limited conductivity. In this study, a series amphoteric metal ion-coordinated chitosan (CTS-AM) with enhanced hydroxide ion conductivity are reported. The CTS-AM prepared using simple soaking-drying method, exhibiting excellent mechanical strength thermal stability strong coordination bonds between ions chains. To best our knowledge, Zn2+ coordinated membrane achieved highest-ever reported 82.0 ± 5.4 mS cm-1 at 25 °C 100% RH, value increasing 301.0 6.7 operating temperature (80 °C) RH. Through combined structural analysis theoretical calculations, we propose that formation nanochannels lowered barrier electron transfer responsible high conductivities membranes. This study presents viable approach design fabrication high-performance HEMs energy storage devices other applications.

Imine-linked covalent organic frameworks (COFs) usually show high crystallinity and porosity, while vinyl-linked COFs have excellent semiconducting properties stability. Therefore, achieving the advantages of imine- vinyl-linkages in a single COF material is highly interesting but remains challenging. Herein, we demonstrate fabrication layer-blocked (LB-COF) heterogeneous film that composed through two successive surface-initiated polycondensations. In brief, bottom layer imine-linked was constructed on an amino-functionalized substrate via Schiff-base polycondensation, which unreacted aldehyde edges could be utilized for initiating aldol polycondensation to prepare second film. Abstract Porous aromatic frameworks (PAFs) show promising potential in anionic conduction due to their high stability and customizable functionality. However, the insolubility of most PAFs presents a significant challenge processing into membranes subsequent applications. In this study, continuous PAF with adjustable thickness were successfully created using liquid‐solid interfacial polymerization.
