Abstract Hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) are emerging porous materials that show high structural flexibility, mild synthetic conditions, good solution processability, easy healing and regeneration, recyclability. Although these properties give them many potential multifunctional applications, their unstable due to the presence of only weak reversible hydrogen bonds. In this work, development history synthesis methods HOFs reviewed, categorize design concepts strategies improve stability. More importantly, significant latest HOF‐related research for addressing energy environmental issues, work discusses advances in storage conversion, substance generation isolation, detection degradation transformation, biological applications. Furthermore, a discussion coupling orientation HOF cross‐cutting fields environment is presented first time. Finally, current challenges, opportunities, advance applications discussed.

Abstract Hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) are outstanding candidates for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. However, most of reported HOFs suffer from poor stability and activity in the absence Pt cocatalyst. Herein, a series metal (Co 2 ‐HOF‐X, X=COOMe, Br, tBu OMe) have been rationally constructed based on dinuclear cobalt complexes, which exhibit exceptional presence strong acid (12 M HCl) base (5 NaOH) at least 10 days. More impressively, by varying ‐X groups microenvironment Co ‐HOF‐X can be modulated, giving rise to obviously different H production rates, following −X group sequence −COOMe>−Br>−tBu>−OMe. The optimized ‐HOF‐COOMe shows generation rate up 12.8 mmol g −1 h any additional noble‐metal photosensitizers cocatalysts, is superior Pt‐assisted systems. Experiments theoretical calculations reveal that grafted possess electron‐withdrawing ability, thus regulating electronic structures catalytic centres proton activation barrier production, leading distinctly activity.

Abstract Ammonia (NH 3 ) is a carbon-free, hydrogen-rich chemical related to global food safety, clean energy, and environmental protection. As an essential technology for meeting the requirements raised by such issues, NH capture has been intensively explored researchers in both fundamental applied fields. The four typical methods used are (1) solvent absorption ionic liquids their derivatives, (2) adsorption porous solids, (3) ab-adsorption liquids, (4) membrane separation. Rooted development of advanced materials capture, we conducted coherent review design different materials, mainly past 5 years, interactions with molecules construction transport pathways, as well structure–property relationship, specific examples discussed. Finally, challenges current research future worthwhile directions proposed.

Abstract A novel class of crystalline porous materials has been developed utilizing multilevel dynamic linkages, including covalent B−O, dative B←N and hydrogen bonds. Typically, boronic acids undergo in situ condensation to afford B 3 O ‐based units, which further extend molecular complexes or chains via The obtained superstructures are subsequently interconnected bonds π–π interactions, producing organic frameworks (CPOFs). CPOFs display excellent solution processability, allowing dissolution subsequent crystallization their original structures, independent recrystallization conditions, possibly due the diverse bond energies involved interactions. Significantly, can be synthesized on a gram‐scale using cost‐effective monomers. In addition, numerous acidic sites endow with high NH capacity, surpassing most commercial materials.
