Abstract
The
carbonate
electrolyte
chemistry
is
a
primary
determinant
for
the
development
of
high‐voltage
lithium
metal
batteries
(LMBs).
Unfortunately,
their
implementation
greatly
plagued
by
sluggish
electrode
interfacial
dynamics
and
insufficient
thermodynamic
stability.
Herein,
trifluoroacetate‐lithium
nitrate
(LiTFA−LiNO
3
)
dual‐salt
additive‐reinforced
(LTFAN)
proposed
stabilizing
LMBs.
We
reveal
that
1)
in
situ
generated
inorganic‐rich
electrode‐electrolyte
interphase
(EEI)
enables
rapid
dynamics,
2)
TFA
−
preferentially
interacts
with
moisture
over
PF
6
to
strengthen
tolerance
designed
electrolyte,
3)
NO
found

noticeably
enriched
at
cathode
interface
on
charging,
thus
constructing
Li
+
‐enriched,
solvent‐coordinated,
thermodynamically
favorable
electric
double
layer
(EDL).

Trifluoroacetic
acid
(TFA)
is
a
known
and
persistent
pollutant
in
the
environment.
Although
several
direct
anthropogenic
sources
exist,
production
from
atmospheric
degradation
of
fluorocarbons
such
as
some
hydrofluorocarbons
(HFCs)
has
been

for
time.

transition
HFCs
to
HFOs

Iodic
acid
(IA)
has
recently
been
recognized
as
a
key
driver
for
new
particle
formation
(NPF)
in
marine
atmospheres.
However,
the
knowledge
of
which
atmospheric
vapors
can
enhance
IA-induced
NPF
remains
limited.
The
unique
halogen
bond
(XB)-forming
capacity
IA
makes
it
difficult
to
evaluate
enhancing
potential
(EP)
target
compounds
on
based
widely
studied
sulfuric
systems.
Herein,
we
employed
three-step
procedure
EP
nucleation
precursors
NPF.
First,
evaluated
63
by
simulating
free
energies
(ΔG)
IA-containing
dimer
clusters.

all
clusters,

Abstract
Aerosol
particles
are
important
for
our
global
climate,
but
the
mechanisms
and
especially
relative
importance
of
various
vapors
new
formation
(NPF)
remain
uncertain.
Quantum
chemical
(QC)
studies
on
organic
enhanced
nucleation
has
past
couple
decades
attracted
immense
attention,
very
little
remains
known
about
exact
compounds
that
potentially
NPF.
Here
we
comprehensively
review
QC
literature
atmospheric
cluster
involving
compounds.
We
outline
potential
systems
should
be
further
investigated.
Cluster
complex
multi‐functional
accretion
products
warrant
investigations,

Trifluoroacetic
acid
(TFA)
is
a
persistent
and
mobile
substance
that
has
been
increasing
in
concentration
within
diverse
environmental
media,
including
rain,
soils,
human
serum,
plants,
plant-based
foods,
drinking
water.
Currently,
TFA
concentrations
are
orders
of
magnitude
higher
than
those
other
per-
polyfluoroalkyl
substances
(PFAS).
This
accumulation
due
to
many
PFAS
having
as
transformation
product,
several
fluorinated
gases
(F-gases),
pesticides,
pharmaceuticals,
industrial
chemicals,
addition

release
industrially
produced
TFA.
