Urbanization combined with global climate change, exacerbates the urban thermal environment and hinders sustainable development. However, complex relationships between land surface temperature (LST) morphology are being further understood, particularly in relation to different development patterns, distinct topography, 3D building morphology. Thus, this study conducted a comparative Chengdu Chongqing, Southwest China. We explored impact of comprehensive factors (including socio-economic factos, use composition, morphology) on LST by employing methods linear regression, geographical detector model, boosted regression trees. Our results suggest that (1) high was mainly observed central part but it presented multicenter aggregation trend Chongqing; (2) Socio-economic were dominant variables affecting both cities; (3) composition showed contributions among two (4) management more effective than Chongqing. A better understanding various influencing will enable policy makers planners develop appropriate strategies for constructing climate-adaptive cities mitigating heat.

Abstract The study's overarching goal was to examine the dynamics of geomorphological interaction and their effects on urban expansion Weija-Gbawe Municipality in Ghana's Greater Accra Region. study deployed a quantitative research approach achieve objective. A descriptive design used collecting analyzing data from three hundred fifty-one (351) participants with closed-ended questionnaire. employed cluster sampling technique select based areas high concentrations built-ups other low concentrations. Using important relative index (RII), fundamental level is ranked by index. SPSS version 26 analyse data, results are shown frequency distribution table. findings revealed population growth as main human factor transforming landscapes' geomorphology, residents change landscape for occupation industrial uses. Similarly, topographical terrain, emphasizing slope elevation were predominant characteristic modifying Municipality, settlements mainly distributed flat significant constraints city. Furthermore, land utilization Weija Gbawe distinguished an industrialized economy built-up facilities. paper concludes that applying geographic information systems, remote sensing, field surveys essential generating comprehensive knowledge anthropocene geomorphology; this possible through use GIS sensing cover changes area. suggests enacting, enforcing environmental by-laws, intensifying, restructuring education various stakeholders, including Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Municipality's Physical Planning (PPA). Permafrost degradation has strong and long-lasting effects on anthropogenic land-use activities, contradicting the goal of sustainable development in polar high-elevation regions. The artificial surface (AS) plays a central role determining human-environment relationships permafrost environments. Despite recent progress monitoring land surfaces, attempts to map AS with satellite remote sensing have been limited. In this study, we propose an operational framework for fine-resolution mapping assessment across entire Northern Hemisphere landmass. proposed was designed take advantage prior knowledge obtained from existing global-scale land-cover products. As result, 10 m resolution 2016–2017 created using locally adaptive classification strategy. We found that exhibited overall accuracy 91.7 ± 2.1% minimum accuracies > 70%. estimated total area approximately 9,000 km2, most notably Russian Arctic. Future projections indicate there will be over one-seventh at high geohazard risk by end twenty-first century. Our study provides new perspectives ‘permafrost-human-climate’ nexus, which can advance our understanding terrestrial system.
