Bipolar disorder (BD) with somatic symptoms is a prevalent and refractory clinical syndrome in young patients. Interoception an important mechanism for coordinating internal physiological mood states to maintain individual homeostasis, its mediating systems brain network dynamics undergo significant development from adolescence adulthood. It remains unclear whether interoception altered how it relates youths BD. This study recruited 71 (aged 14-25) BD during maintenance status 111 age-matched controls. Demographic characteristics, interoceptive sensitivity, symptoms, of depression anxiety were assessed. Mann-Whitney U tests, Kruskal-Wallis H test, partial correlation analysis, multiple linear regression used explore the alteration patients association symptoms. showed lower sensitivity higher than controls (p < 0.001). Those had highest 0.001) but lowest scores not-distracting, not-worrying, self-regulation, trust 0.05). Interoceptive indicators correlated Not-distracting was sole predictor issues, maintaining significance after controlling 0.05), highlighting attentional focus as key factor youths. exhibit deficits issues. The not-distracting aspect significantly correlates BD, providing insights targeted strategies managing psychosomatic this demographic. has several limitations. First, control group's inclusion exclusion criteria lacking validation. Second, assessment relied on screening tools rather validated questionnaires, structured evaluations not conducted. Third, medication effects considered. Fourth, some psychiatric conditions (e.g., borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive etc.) comorbid Finally, causal relationships cannot be inferred, need longitudinal studies.
