Background/Objectives: Climate change adversely affects some of the fundamental determinants health, and children are population group most vulnerable to exposure environmental risk factors. The main objective this study was validate in Portuguese context three scales assess attitudes, knowledge, skills on children's health. Methods: A cross-sectional observational developed translate, adapt, questionnaire consisting following scales: Attitude Scale (SANS_2), knowledge scale (ChEHK-Q), (ChEHS-Q). This carried out two phases: translation adaptation process validation using classical measure theory item response with undergraduate nursing students. Results: We obtained a valid reliable health competence an attitude (α = 0.84), (Infit 0.98, Outfit 0.97, reliability people 0.75), 1.00, 0.99, 0.82, 0.88). mean score 28.15 (5-35) ± 4.61; 14.92 (0-26) 4.51 scale; 42.51 (24-60) 6.41 scale. Conclusions: found that students have very good pro-environmental attitudes dealing will be useful for comparative studies other countries evaluating effectiveness educational interventions.

Reducing global greenhouse gas emissions and implementing sustainable environmental policies require the identification of economic, political, ecological, social factors that affect emission levels. To this end, study examines, for first time, impact wealth inequality, economic growth, renewable energy consumption on CO2 in 17 countries with highest inequality over 1995–2021 period. This employs a novel robust approach, method moments quantile regression, to analyze relationships among these variables. Findings support Kuznets curve hypothesis by displaying growth initially increases but has dampening effect after turning point. Moreover, reduces emissions, where certain as increasing contributes higher emissions. These results underscore need policymakers adopt more egalitarian socioeconomic models, accelerate transition clean energy, maintain achieve development goals.

Abstract Poverty deeply impacts society by contributing to unemployment, health disparities, social inequality, and political instability, leading a series of socio-economic environmental crises. As climate change alters rainfall patterns, its impact on household poverty becomes increasingly important, yet it remains poorly understood. A major challenge in climate-poverty research is the lack accurate fine-scale data spatial temporal distribution community-level wealth assets, particularly Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), which essential for understanding complex societal impacts. Using from 863,944 households across 34,055 communities 32 African countries between 2010 2021, we developed deep learning model generate satellite-based, fine-grained investigate variations SSA. We employ fixed-effects panel regression estimate relationship patterns—such as extreme daily rainfall, number wet days, seasonal variability derived apportionment entropy—and different temperature zones both rural urban regions. Our analysis reveals significant how entropy affect asset Africa, depending levels living conditions. Extremely impoverished are vulnerable variability, while wealthier can better mitigate these effects. The most declines International Wealth Index (IWI) occur low middle zones, where nearly 84% extremely poor located experience high variability. This work lays groundwork future effects communities.

This chapter explores the intersection of climate change and global inequality, highlighting how impacts exacerbate existing disparities challenge social justice. By examining case studies from Bangladesh, Puerto Rico, Sahel region, Pacific Island nations, it reveals disproportionate effects on vulnerable populations. The analysis underscores urgent need for integrated justice frameworks, community-based adaptation strategies, sustainable development initiatives. Key responses, including Paris Agreement international migration compacts, are assessed their effectiveness in addressing these challenges. Future directions emphasize enhancing cooperation, leveraging technological innovations, improving monitoring accountability. aims to provide a comprehensive understanding intensifies inequality offers actionable insights building more equitable resilient future.
