Abstract Amorphous silica nanoparticles (ASNP) are among the nanomaterials that produced in large quantities. ASNP have been present for a long time several fast-moving consumer products, of which imply exposure gastrointestinal tract, such as toothpastes, food additives, drug excipients, and carriers. Consolidated use experimental evidence consistently pointed to very low acute toxicity limited absorption ASNP. However, slow implies prolonged intestinal epithelium ASNP, with documented effects on permeability immune gut homeostasis. These could explain hepatic observed after oral administration animals. More recently, role microbiota these other has attracted increasing interest parallel recognition variety conditions. Although nanomaterial is particularly abundant materials endowed bactericidal activities, growing body recent data indicates ASNPs also modify microbiota. The implications recounted this contribution, along discussion more important open issues recommendations future research. Graphical

The toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling pathway constitutes an intricate network of protein interactions primarily involved in inflammation and cancer. This triggers intracellular cascades, modulating transcription factors that regulate gene expression related to immunity malignancy. Previous studies showed colon cancer patients with low TLR4 exhibit extended survival times the holds a significant role CRC pathogenesis. In recent years, traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs) have garnered substantial attention as alternative therapeutic modality for CRC, due their multifaceted composition ability target multiple pathways. Emerging evidence indicates specific TCM products, such andrographolide, rosmarinic acid, baicalin, etc., potential impede development through pathway. Here, we review biochemical processes natural products from TCMs affecting sheds light on treatment strategies utilizing inhibitors which contributes advancement research accelerates clinical integration into treatment.

Abstract The incidence of early-onset colorectal cancer (eoCRC) is rising, and its pathogenesis not completely understood. We hypothesized that machine learning utilizing paired tissue microbiome plasma metabolome features could uncover distinct host-microbiome associations between eoCRC average-onset CRC (aoCRC). Abstract Background Complex interrelationships between the microbiota and cancer have been identified by several studies. However, despite delineating microbial composition in non‐small cell lung (NSCLC), key pathogenic their underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Methods We performed 16S rRNA V3–V4 amplicon transcriptome sequencing on cancerous adjacent normal tissue samples from 30 patients with NSCLC, which clinical characteristics prognosis outcomes were collected. used to dissect perform correlations, conjunction sequencing, we determined potential underpinning significant actions. Results In comparing different sample types, more pronounced beta diversity disparity squamous carcinoma (LUSC) corresponding paired tissues. Concurrently, LUSC adenocarcinoma exhibited distinct traits at genus levels. Subsequently, four phyla, five classes, nine orders, 17 families 36 genera filtered out related outcomes. Intriguingly, a protective cluster was encompassing associated delayed disease recurrence, functional analyses suggested that these predominantly exerted metabolism‐related functions. Additionally, harmful (HMC) identified, including three genera. this HMC subsequent model analyses, intratumoural potentially implicated infection, inflammation immune regulation. Crucially, genus, Peptococcus , as an independent, detrimental NSCLC prognostic factor impacted via tumour necrosis (TNF) signalling. Conclusions substantial connection Protective primarily metabolic functions, whereas mainly modulation. Furthermore, may be adverse prognoses serve biomarker for patient management screening. Rising studies have consistently reported gut bacteriome alterations in schizophrenia (SCZ). However, little is known about the role of virome on shaping SCZ. Here in, we sequenced fecal virome, bacteriome, and host peripheral metabolome 49 SCZ patients health controls (HCs). We compared bacterial community composition specific abundant bacteria HCs. Specific viruses metabolites co-occurring with differential were identified using Multiple Co-inertia Analysis (MCIA). Additionally, construct a latent serial mediation model (SMM) to investigate effect through metabolic profile. exhibited decreased β-diversity HCs, seven differentially bacteria, including Coprobacillaceae, Enterococcaceae etc. Gut Suoliviridae Rountreeviridae, co-occur these SCZ-related bacteria. found that viral-bacterial transkingdom correlations observed HCs dramatically lost The altered profile may impact microbiota-derived enriched bile acids pathway, eicosanoids others, contributing immune dysfunction inflammation. SMM suggested potential causal chains between SCZ, indicating significantly mediated by metabolites. In conclusion, findings provide comprehensive perspective microbiota pathogenesis They reveal harbor an abnormal virome-bacteriome ecology, shedding light development microbial therapeutics.
