Background Bone health is important for older adults, and vitamin K (VK) central to regulating bone formation promoting health. However, whether VK can reduce the risk of osteoporosis loss unclear. This study hypothesized that different levels intake exert varying effects on in people aged over 50 years. Methods Individuals above years were recruited from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey. intake, based 24-h dietary recall, was divided into three groups, namely high, medium, low by sex tertile. Weighted multiple logistic regression used investigate at femoral neck, trochanter, intertrochanter, total femur, lumbar spine, overall. Results included 5,075 individuals. Of them, 1,001 (18%) had (808 women, 83%) 2,226 (46%) osteopenia (1,076 54%). Overall, a medium level associated with reduced loss. In medium- [odds ratio, OR (95% confidence interval, CI): 0.66(0.47, 0.93)] high-level [OR 0.71(0.52, 0.98)] decreased osteoporosis. contrast, only medium-level 0.58(0.41, 0.81)]. Similar results obtained spine. men, neck 0.66(0.48, 0.90)], whereas corresponded spine 0.68(0.47, 0.99)]. Considering that skeletal changes are often asymptomatic during routine clinical examination, these disorders frequently overlooked in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD). Keeping mind the inclining prevalence of PAD and bone fragility, especially older individuals, this narrative literature review aimed to provide a comprehensive overview alterations PAD, focusing on importance multi-scale multidisciplinary approach assessment hierarchical organization. Several observational studies have shown connection between risk developing low-trauma fractures, but numerous ambiguities remain be solved. Recent data indicate evaluating additional properties at various levels structure may help understanding factors contributing fragility individuals PAD. Further research structural (especially micro- nano-scale) enhance complex etiopathogenesis which lead advancements optimizing management individuals. Since osteoporosis overlapping factors, it is meaningful evaluate vascular status examine health identify who require treatment for both diseases.

Aging is a complex, progressive, and irreversible biological process that entails numerous structural functional changes in the organism. These affect all bodily systems, reducing their ability to respond adapt environment. Chronic inflammation one of key factors driving development age-related diseases, ultimately causing substantial decline abilities older individuals. This persistent inflammatory state (commonly known as “inflammaging”) characterized by elevated levels pro-inflammatory cytokines, an increase oxidative stress, perturbation immune homeostasis. Several factors, including cellular senescence, contribute this milieu, thereby amplifying conditions such cardiovascular disease, neurodegeneration, metabolic disorders. Exploring mechanisms chronic aging essential for developing targeted interventions aimed at promoting healthy aging. review explains strong connection between inflammation, highlighting potential therapeutic approaches like pharmacological treatments, dietary strategies, lifestyle changes.
