Oral food processing is an important part of daily intake. Deglutição e cognição na doença de Parkinson: revisão integrativa

RESUMO Objetivo compreender a relação entre deglutição e cognição nos indivíduos com doença de Parkinson. Estratégia pesquisa revisão integrativa guiada pela pergunta condutora: “Qual na Parkinson?”. Foram utilizados os seguintes descritores em saúde: Doença Parkinson, Cognição, Disfunção Cognitiva, Mastigação, Deglutição Transtornos Deglutição. As bases dados pesquisadas foram LILACS, MEDLINE/PubMed, SciELO, Web of Science, Embase Scopus. Critérios seleção se deu forma independente, por meio da leitura pares, sendo inclusas publicações disponibilizadas íntegra português, inglês ou espanhol, sem restrição ano. Estudos que descreviam o comprometimento cognitivo oral associado outras síndromes parkinsonianas diferentes doenças neurodegenerativas excluídos. Resultados dos 1701 estudos, excluídos 306 duplicados. A partir resumos, aplicando-se critérios seleção, selecionados 24 estudos para íntegra, quais, 14 incluídos nesta revisão. Observou-se associação declínio fase deglutição. Conclusão achados sugerem pode influenciar desempenho deglutição, estando à disfagia sialorreia. Essa mostrou mais evidente mas ainda controversa faríngea.

Swallowing and cognition in Parkinson’s disease: an integrative review

ABSTRACT Purpose to understand the relationship between swallowing and cognition in individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Research strategy this integrative review was based on research question, “What is disease?”. It used following health descriptors: disease, Cognition, Cognitive Dysfunction, Mastication, Swallowing, Swallowing Disorders, search LILACS, MEDLINE/PubMed, SciELO, Web of Science, EMBASE, Scopus databases. Selection criteria selection independent reading by peers, including publications available full text Portuguese, English, or Spanish, no restriction year. The excluded studies that described cognitive oral impairment associated other parkinsonian syndromes different neurodegenerative diseases. Results altogether, 1701 were found, which 306 duplicates excluded. Based abstract criteria, 24 selected be read text, 14 them included review. Association observed decline phase swallowing. Conclusion findings suggest can influence performance, dysphagia sialorrhea. This proved more evident swallowing, but still controversial pharyngeal phase.
