Hypothyroidism is a common sequela after radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has gained prominence in thyroid imaging, leveraging its non-ionizing radiation, high spatial resolution, multiparameter and multidirectional imaging. Few previous studies have investigated the evaluation of radiation-induced injury by MRI. MRI data 32 patients who were first diagnosed with our hospital from April 2015 to 2024 underwent department retrospectively collected. Before, during radiotherapy, morphology was observed on MR images, quantitative parameters size (width, thickness) measured T1-weighted images. The signal intensity (SI) gland (T1WI), T2-weighted (T2WI) contrast-enhanced differences at different time points before compared. correlation between radiation dose volume pituitary analyzed. width, thickness decreased gradually before, 6 12 months radiotherapy. To evaluate the feasibility of aortoiliac CT-Angiography (CTA) using dual-source photon-counting detector (PCD)-CT with minimal iodine dose. This IRB-approved, single-center prospective study enrolled patients indications for CTA from December 2022 to March 2023. All scans were performed a first-generation PCD-CT. Images acquired fast pitch and full spectral capabilities (collimation 144 × 0.4 mm). The contrast protocol included mixture sodium chloride iodinated agent (Iopromide, total dose: 9.5-9.8 g). Virtual monoenergetic images (VMIs) reconstructed at 40, 50, 60, 68 keV. Two blinded radiologists evaluated image quality on 4-point scale. Attenuation was measured across eight regions in aorta iliac arteries, contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) calculated. Statistical comparisons repeated measures ANOVA Bonferroni post-hoc tests. final cohort consisted 39 subjects (mean age: 69.6 ± 9.6 years; 30.8 % female). VMI 40 keV provided significantly higher attenuation: 478 114 HU, compared 50 (331 74 HU), 60 (241 51 (190 48 HU) (p < 0.01). translated increased CNR reconstructions (11.8 3.9), followed by (9.1 3.0), (7.0 2.3), (6.1 1.9) Subjective rated excellent (4 [3,4]), though associated highest noise (38 7.4 p = 0.02). Aortoiliac PCD-CT achieved high attenuation CNR, enabling effective imaging only 9.8 g iodine.

The widespread application of ionizing radiation (IR) in medicine, while beneficial, also poses potential risks that necessitate effective countermeasures. Both 2-(3-aminopropylamino) ethanethiol (WR-1065) and curcumin are recognized as radioprotective agents; however, their clinical utility is hindered by notable shortcomings could be addressed through reactive oxygen species (ROS)-responsive amphiphilic nanomaterials. We introduced a newly synthesized poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG)-polycaprolactone (PCL) polymer integrated with diselenide bonds (HOOC-SeSe-Cur-PEG-SeSe-Cur-PCL, PEG-Cur-SeSe-PCL). resulting spherical nanoparticles (NPs), which self-assembled from this polymer, were uniform an average diameter 118 nm. Radiotherapy is the standard of care treatment for unresectable NSCLC, combined with concurrent chemotherapy and adjuvant immunotherapy. Despite technological advances in radiotherapy planning delivery, risk damage to surrounding thoracic tissues remains high. Cardiac problems, including arrhythmia, heart failure ischaemic events, occur 20% patients lung cancer who undergo radiotherapy. As survival rates improve incrementally this cohort, minimising cardiovascular morbidity RT increasingly important. Problematically, reporting cardiac endpoints has been poor clinical trials, retrospective studies have limited by lack standardisation nomenclature endpoints. How baseline profile substructure radiation dose distribution impact cardiotoxicity incompletely understood. Thoracic Oncology departments seek expand indications radiotherapy, as patient cohort becomes older more comorbid, there a pressing need be comprehensively characterised sophisticated oncology, physics cardio-oncology evaluations. Exposure to ionizing radiation has recognized detrimental cancer and non-cancer health effects.
