Lipid metabolism, cell death, and autophagy are interconnected processes in cells. Dysregulation of lipid metabolism can lead to such as via ferroptosis apoptosis, while lipids also play a crucial role the regulation autophagosome formation. An increased autophagic response not only promotes survival but causes death depending on context, especially when selectively degrading antioxidant proteins or organelles that promote ferroptosis. ACSL4 is an enzyme catalyzes formation long-chain acyl-CoA molecules, which important intermediates biosynthesis various types lipids. found many tissues particularly abundant brain, liver, adipose tissue. linked variety diseases, including cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular disease, acute kidney injury, metabolic disorders (such obesity non-alcoholic fatty liver disease). Adjuvant whole-breast radiotherapy is essential for breast cancer patients who adopted breast-conserving surgery (BCS) to reduce the risk of local recurrences, which however suffer from large-area and highly destructive ionizing radiation-induced adverse events. To tackle this issue, an afterglow/photothermal bifunctional polymeric nanoparticle (APPN) developed that utilizes nonionizing light precise afterglow imaging-guided post-BCS adjuvant second near-infrared (NIR-II) photothermal therapy. APPN consists a tumor cell targeting agent, doped with NIR dye as initiator NIR-II light-absorbing semiconducting polymer transducer. Such design realizes ablation minimal residual foci after BCS, thus achieving complete inhibition recurrences. Moreover, enables early diagnosis treatment recurrence BCS. This study provides modality precision therapy theranostic.

Abstract Heat waves are increasing in intensity, frequency, and duration causing significant heat stress all living organisms. has multiple negative effects on plants affecting photosynthesis, respiration, growth, development, reproduction. It also impacts animals leading to physiological behavioral alterations, such as reduced caloric intake, increased water decreased reproduction growth.
