Abstract Background Fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNo) is a convenient and noninvasive test that measures the concentration of in exhalation as surrogate biomarker airway inflammation. This cross‐sectional study aimed to determine associations between Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) FeNo US adults. Methods Adults participating 2007–2012 cycles National Health Nutrition Examination Survey with complete information available measurement data DII were included. Associations assessed using univariable multivariable logistic regression models, restricted cubic spline analysis, stratified sensitivity analysis. Results A total 7677 participants (mean age 45.68 years, 53.03% men) mean 1.28 17.33 ppb The multivariable‐adjusted linear analysis showed one‐unit increase was associated 0.283‐ppb reduction level. beta 95% CI for second, third, fourth quartile groups −1.19 (−2.04 −0.35), −1.07 (−2.26 0.12), −1.60 (−2.85 −0.36), respectively ( P trend = 0.04), lowest group reference. curve an inversely relationship FeNo. result robust did not appear be affected by participant's age, sex, race, body mass index, physical activity, diabetes status, or white blood cell eosinophil counts. Conclusion proinflammatory diet, indicated higher DII, cross‐sectionally lower levels

Background There is increasing acknowledgment of the potential role that diet rich in antioxidants may play prevention anemia. As a significant indicator antioxidant-rich diet, relationship between composite dietary antioxidant index (CDAI) and anemia has not been extensively studied. Therefore, this study aims to explore association CDAI Methods Utilizing datas from 2003–2018 National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database. The was calculated using six antioxidants, based on two 24-hour recall interviews, serving as comprehensive measure intake these antioxidants. Weighted multivariable logistic regression restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis conducted investigate Furthermore, subgroup analyses were performed enhance reliability. Results A total 33914 participants included study, among which 3,416 (10.07%) diagnosed with unadjusted model showed negative (odds ratio [OR]: 0.94; 95% confidence interval [95%CI]: 0.93–0.96; P < 0.001). After adjusting for all covariates, each increase level linked 3% lower risk (OR: 0.97; 95%CI: 0.95–0.98; Moreover, when categorized into quartiles, observed trend persisted ( RCS revealed linear nonlinearity = 0.619). Except sex, smoking, diabetes hypertension, no statistically interactions found any 0.05 interaction). Conclusion Our findings suggest levels are inversely related prevalence Consequently, monitoring individuals low scores facilitate timely identification clinical decision-making.

Kidney stones are a chronic metabolic disorder. The cardiometabolic index (CMI) is new and easily accessible measure used to assess status. However, the relationship between CMI incidence of kidney remains unclear. Data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) was in our cross-sectional study. A weighted multivariable logistic regression analysis conducted stone incidence. Subgroup restricted cubic spline analyses were utilized confirm robustness non-linearity association This study involved 18,043 individuals, whom 9.89% diagnosed with stones. After controlling for all covariates, showed significant positive (OR: 1.07, 95%CI: 1.02-1.12). Individuals highest quartile experienced 50% higher than those lowest 1.50, 1.18-1.92). Additionally, interaction observed subgroup history diabetes (p < 0.05). identified notable non-linear elevated levels greater occurrence finding suggests that by routinely monitoring levels, physicians can identify individuals at risk early, allowing timely intervention mitigate disease progression.

Background Given the global changes in environmental and dietary habits, understanding potential impact of factors diet-related inflammation on skeletal muscle diseases, including sarcopenia, is crucial. Investigating these relationships can aid development more effective prevention strategies. This study used Dietary Index for Gut Microbiota (DI-GM) Inflammatory (DII) as variables. DI-GM a scoring system to assess influence diet health. Additionally, DII quantifies inflammatory diet. explores association between sarcopenia evaluates whether moderates this relationship. Methods conducted cross-sectional analysis 9,470 participants from 2011–2018 NHANES database. Multivariable logistic regression, restricted cubic splines (RCS), subgroup were employed examine prevalence sarcopenia. mediation was performed investigate associations DII, DI-GM, Results A total included study, whom 823 (7%) had After adjusting all variables using multivariable each one-unit increase associated with 15% decrease (OR = 0.85, 95% CI: 0.77, 0.94), while 28% 1.28, 1.17, 1.41). Furthermore, results remained robust when divided into tertiles. RCS revealed significant linear relationship The also showed that above robust. Mediation 55% mediated by ( P < 0.001). Conclusion Adhering recommendations based may reduce appears mediate relationship, suggesting an anti-inflammatory could offer benefits.

Research on the potential association between life-ever gallstones and depressive symptoms is limited. This study aims to evaluate whether presence of gallstone disease associated with symptoms. In this cross-sectional study, we analyzed data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2017-March 2020 cycles. The was assessed using questionnaire responses. Adjusted odds ratios (OR) were calculated a multivariate logistic regression model, adjustments made for age, sex, race, body mass index, history cardiovascular disease, hypertension, arthritis, pulmonary across different models. Subgroup sensitivity analyses conducted ensure stability results. included 6201 adults aged 20 years above, 539(8.7%) experiencing After adjusting CVD history, possibly (OR 1.37, 95% CI 0.91–2.08).When categorized as mild, moderate, moderately severe, severe,life-ever mild 1.12, 0.81–1.56), moderate 0.89–2.12), severe 1.93, 0.93–3.99), 0.67, 0.16–2.88).As continuous variable, PHQ-9 score 0.42, 0.02–0.83). results remained stable after multiple imputation all missing data. demonstrates no significant in US adults.
