Introduction Test anxiety, a prevalent psychological issue among medical students, can profoundly impact their social, behavioral, and emotional development. This condition is significantly associated with challenges in regulation, to date, no effective clinical treatment has been established address it. study aimed investigate the potential benefits effects of group impromptu music therapy (GIMT) on enhancing regulation skills alleviating test anxiety students. Methods A total 29 participants experimental 30 control were finally included for data analysis. Four weeks prior final exams, commenced GIMT treatment, while did not receive any intervention. Following four-week intervention period, both groups assessed using standardized scales follow-up semi-structured interviews. Results The results revealed that students given reported lower levels as measured by Anxiety Scale (TAS), experienced fewer difficulties indicated Difficulties Emotion Regulation (DERS). Additionally, these achieved higher examination scores than group. Qualitative from interviews further supported observations. Discussion Collectively, findings demonstrate an method abilities relieving symptoms ultimately resulting better academic performance. also indicates could be promising auxiliary dealing should considered inclusion curriculum healthcare professional education programs.
