Abstract This study investigated the influence of heartfulness meditation (HM) on modulation brain alpha power in individuals with varying levels experience. Among 33 total participants, 12 were long-term meditators (LTMs), 11 short-term (STMs), and 10 nonmeditators (control group, CG). Every participant experienced four experimental conditions: baseline, meditation, transmission, post-resting. Using a 129-channel system, electroencephalographic (EEG) signals recorded preprocessed strong pipeline comprising bandpass filtering (8–12 Hz), notch at 50 Hz, artifact correction via RANSAC independent component analysis (ICA), estimation Welch method. Topographic region-specific studies revealed notable increase meditators; LTM group showed most consistent broad improvement, especially frontal, parietal, temporal areas during transmission post-meditation phases. Compared controls, both STM groups presented greater states compared to controls; practitioners stronger effects. These results imply that continuous HM practice increases band activity linked relaxation, attentional control, emotional regulation. findings support possible use as nonpharmacological treatment enhance cognitive affective function.

Objective: This study evaluated the feasibility and satisfaction of using a wearable brain activity sensing device for stress reduction among patients experiencing Long COVID (LC). Patients Methods: with LC (N = 45) were invited to participate in an open-label pilot study. Participants asked use brain-sensing electroencephalogram (S-EEG) (Muse-S™) daily 90 days followed additional (180 total participation). Study enrollment began June 28, 2022, ended July 2023. Results: predominantly female (82%), white (96%), average age 47.6 (±12.5) years. At end treatment (90 days), cognition, sleep, self-efficacy, quality-of-life quality life improved ( P < .001 .04). In addition, anxiety significantly reduced .001). These significant changes persisted by end-of-study days). For .023) .033), change from baseline during follow-up was associated amount S-EEG usage. The survey indicated that very satisfied device, 97% planned continue it. Conclusion: Results suggest cognition LC, which is one main severe symptoms we see our clinic. it helped reduce anxiety. findings have important clinical implications as adjunct concurrent care includes pharmacotherapies.
