Abstract The emergence and rapid spread of antibiotic resistance pose a major threat to global health, attributing misuse overuse antibiotics resulting in antibiotics-resistant bacteria through natural mutation or transfer genes. A cross-sectional study was carried out, which total 36 samples were systematically collected; these, 26 derived from the wastewater efflux 10 receiving waters at several critical junctures along Sutlej River. Herein, this elucidated elevated levels among bacterial isolates sourced urban wastewater. Escherichia coli ( E. ) highest 90% isolates, followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae K. 58%, Pseudomonas aeruginosa P. 55%, Salmonella spp . 53%. Many found be more resistant including Ciproflaxacin, Co-Trimaxazole, Ampicillin Tetracycline. Several antibiotic-resistance genes isolated spp., such as Aminoglycosides (aadA), Sulfonamides (Sul1, Sul3), Tetracyclines (Tet (A/B/D)) Cephalosporins (Bla_CTM X) 41%, 35%, 29% 12% respectively. Furthermore, development innovative treatment models surveillance programs are crucial counteract dissemination resistance. To investigate genetic determinants resistance, molecular analysis performed, DNA isolation, PCR amplification, sequence analysis. helps diverse range ARBs ARGs wastewater, highlights need better laws for usage processes. This investigation also stresses on regular monitoring sewage Through proactive interventions sustained scientific inquiry, we can strive toward preserving environmental integrity public health successive generations.
