The stigma faced by gender and sexual minorities varies across countries. How does relate to collective action for social change? We propose a curvilinear link (i.e., an inverted U-curve) between such that increased is associated with up point, beyond which, reduced action. Using Bayesian inference sample of over 3,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer (LGBTIQ+) individuals 25 countries, analyses showed at the between-country level (but not within-country level), there was preliminary evidence effect. There also indirect effect institutional on outcomes via perceived stigma, suggesting structural-level factors can trickle down shape individuals’ change intentions behaviours. These findings raise importance reconsidering assumption linearity
