Abstract Background and Hypothesis Among individuals living with psychotic disorders, social impairment is common, debilitating, challenging to treat. While the roots of this are undoubtedly complex, converging lines evidence suggest that motivation pleasure (MAP) deficits play a central role. Yet most neuroimaging studies have focused on monetary rewards, precluding decisive inferences. Study Design Here we leveraged parallel incentive delay functional magnetic resonance imaging paradigms test whether blunted reactivity incentives in ventral striatum—a key component distributed neural circuit mediating appetitive hedonic pleasure—is associated more severe MAP symptoms transdiagnostic adult sample enriched for psychosis. To maximize ecological validity translational relevance, capitalized naturalistic audiovisual clips an established partner expressing positive feedback. Results Although both robustly engaged striatum, only was clinician-rated deficits. This association remained significant when controlling other symptoms, binary diagnostic status, or striatal incentives. Follow-up analyses suggested predominantly reflects diminished activation during presentation reward. Conclusions These observations provide neurobiologically grounded framework conceptualizing social-anhedonia impairments characterize many disorders underscore need develop targeted intervention strategies.

To explore the impact of perceived environmental pollution on individual depression risk and mechanisms involved, particularly mediating roles health level life confidence. Ordinary least squares, Ologit, Oprobit models were employed to analyze data from 2020 China Family Panel Studies test hypothesized relations outlined above. The findings indicate that significantly increases (β = 0.052, p < 0.01). Both confidence serve as mediators in this relationship, forming a serial mediation mechanism. This study reveals negative mental health. It emphasizes importance improving public levels provides an evidence base for related policies.

Objectives The current study aimed to explore participants’ views on the acceptability, impact and mechanisms of change Augmented Depression Therapy (ADepT), a novel wellbeing-focused recovery-oriented psychological therapy for depression. Design A semi-structured qualitative interview design was used, with data analysed using framework approach. Participants 20 participants anhedonic depression who had received up sessions ADepT, sampled from pilot randomised controlled trial ADepT versus Cognitive Behavioural (CBT). Setting primary care clinic in Devon, UK, interviews occurring between May 2018 February 2020. Results found wellbeing focus acceptable. Helpful aspects were positive therapeutic bond, structure flow scaffolding learning journey, tools techniques helping building booster supporting long-term recovery. Negative some feeling too intense triggering feelings failure. reported significant impacts treatment wellbeing, functioning hope. Perceived reorienting positive, engaging valued goals, taking proactive life stance, gaining confidence motivation change, breaking down tasks into small steps, cultivating self-care self-compassion, enhancing help seeking interpersonal effectiveness, changing relationship depression, rediscovering self beyond Conclusions Findings suggest that is acceptable leads impacts, supports logic model underpinning intervention, warrants continuation definitive trial. Introduction Non-hostile humour and laughter have been known for therapeutic benefits in an individual’s mental health wellbeing. To this end, we evaluated the Self-Initiated Humour Protocol (SIHP), a new type of self-administrable intervention that utilises spontaneous self-induced laughter. Rooted core principles Self-Attachment Technique—in which individual creates affectional bond with their childhood self as represented by photo or personalised avatar—SIHP provides algorithmic framework individuals to learn laugh non-hostile manner develop sense all possible life contexts. This allows SIHP be self-administered interacting AI agent. Methods An 8-week was conducted N = 27 adult participants. Exclusion criteria: severe depression anxiety (PHQ-9 GAD-7 scores above 15). Participants’ measurements were collected areas wellbeing, use different styles, emotional self-regulation, self-compassion psychological capital, analysed understand any changes over time. Measurements taken immediately before, after intervention, at 3-month follow-up. Throughout participants required practise 20 min day aid emotionally intelligent chatbot child avatar virtual reality (VR). Results Analysis results follow-up showed significant improvements primary outcome wellbeing large effect size ( r=0.92 ), well range secondary outcomes sizes, id="IM2">r=0.93 self-enhancing id="IM3">d=0.80 emotion regulation id="IM4">d=0.87 ); also improvement participant’s capital moderate id="IM5">d=0.56 ). Introduction Anhedonic depression is a subtype of characterized by deficits in reward processing. This associated with higher suicide risk and longer depressive episodes, underscoring the importance effective treatments. Anhedonia has also been found to correlate alterations activity several subcortical regions, including caudate head nucleus accumbens. Low intensity focused ultrasound pulsation (LIFUP) an emerging technology that enables non-invasive stimulation these which were previously only accessible surgically-implanted electrodes. Methods double-blinded, sham-controlled study aims investigate effects LIFUP left right accumbens participants anhedonic depression. Participants this protocol will undergo three sessions over span 5–9 days. To LIFUP-related changes, 7-week collects continuous digital phenotyping data, array self-report measures depression, anhedonia, other psychopathology, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) before after intervention. Primary outcome include Ecological Momentary Assessment, Positive Valence Systems Scale, Patient Health Questionnaire. spectroscopy functional MRI during reward-based tasks at rest. Digital data collected Apple Watch participants' personal iPhones throughout study, includes information about sleep, heart rate, physical activity. Discussion first or depressed subjects. Furthermore, for covers wide potentially affected modalities. As result, help elucidate potential impacts individuals

Abstract Mental stress is a dangerous factor for the health of living beings, which can lead to various diseases. However, currently, there lack diagnostic tools that quickly and accurately quantify levels mental stress. Cortisol an important hormone widely present in bodily fluids; its concentration reflect level organisms. Here, we report surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) probe based on flower-like graphene oxide-molybdenum disulfide composite material functionalized with cortisol DNA recognition element tetracyanoquinodimethane label, remarkable enhancement value 7.38 × 10 5 , exhibits excellent detection ability wide range concentrations from 1 nM 000 nM, limit down 0.773 nM. The whole takes only 20 min. In addition, SERS selectively detect other substances similar chemical structures, makes applicable complex biological systems good reproducibility stability. This designed has been successfully employed mouse serum cortisol, high accuracy compared enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) results, demonstrating great potential actual sample detection.
