Non-human
primate
neuroimaging
is
a
rapidly
growing
area
of
research
that
promises
to
transform
and
scale
translational
cross-species
comparative
neuroscience.
Unfortunately,
the
technological
methodological
advances
past
two
decades
have
outpaced
accrual
data,
which
particularly
challenging
given
relatively
few
centers
necessary
facilities
capabilities.
The
PRIMatE
Data
Exchange
(PRIME-DE)
addresses
this
challenge
by
aggregating
independently
acquired
non-human
magnetic
resonance
imaging
(MRI)
datasets
openly
sharing
them
via
International
Neuroimaging
Data-sharing
Initiative
(INDI).
Here,
we
present
rationale,
design,
procedures
for
PRIME-DE
consortium,
as
well
initial
release,
consisting
25
independent
data
collections
aggregated
across
22
sites
(total
=
217
primates).
We
also
outline
unique
pitfalls
challenges
should
be
considered
in
analysis

datasets,
including
providing
automated
quality

BackgroundThere

interest

transdiagnostic
approach
to
psychiatry.

movie-watching
as
an
acquisition
state
for
functional
connectivity
(FC)
MRI
has
recently
enabled
multiple
groups
to
obtain
rich
data
sets
in
younger
children
with
both
substantial
sample
sizes
and
scan
durations.
Using
naturalistic
paradigms
such
movies
also
provided
analytic
flexibility

developmental
studies
that

beyond
conventional
resting

review
highlights
the
advantages
challenges
using
neuroimaging

methodological
issues

designing

Two
ongoing
movements
in
human
cognitive
neuroscience
have
researchers
shifting
focus
from
group-level
inferences
to
characterizing
single
subjects,

complementing
tightly
controlled
tasks
with
rich,
dynamic
paradigms

movies

Yet
relatively
little
work
combines
these
two,
perhaps
because
traditional
analysis
approaches
for
naturalistic
imaging
data
are
geared
toward
detecting
shared
responses
rather
than
between-subject
variability.
Here,
we
review
recent

differences,

a
framework
