Abstract

Weddell
Gyre
(WG)
is
one
of
the
main
oceanographic
features

Ocean

Antarctic
Circumpolar
Current
which
plays
an
influential
role
in
global
ocean
circulation
as
well
gas
exchange
with
atmosphere.
We
review
state‐of‐the
art
knowledge
concerning
WG
from
interdisciplinary
perspective,
uncovering
critical
aspects
needed
to
understand
this
system's
shaping
future
evolution
oceanic
heat
and
carbon
uptake
over
next
decades.
