Abstract
A

light‐initiated
pseudo
four‐component
reaction
of
salicylaldehydes,
indole
and
malononitrile
in
aqueous
ethyl
lactate
is
described.
This
pot,
atomic

a
practical
approach
for
the
preparation

chromeno[2,3‐

]pyridines
from
readily
available
starting
materials
at
ambient
temperature
