As
a
kind
of
valuable
chemicals,
hydrogen
peroxide
(H2O2)
has
aroused
growing
attention
in
many
fields.
However,
H2O2
production
via
traditional
anthraquinone
process
suffers
from
challenges
large
energy
consumption
and
heavy
carbon
footprint.
Alternatively,
photoelectrocatalytic
(PEC)
shown
great
promises
to
make
renewable
fuel
store
solar
energy.
Transition-metal-oxide
(TMO)
semiconductor
based
photoelectrocatalysts
are
among
the
most
promising
candidates
for
PEC
production.
In
this
work,
fundamentals
synthesis
through
briefly
introduced,
followed
by
state-of-the-art
TMO
H2O2.
Then,
progress
on
cells
on-site
is
presented.
Furthermore,
future
perspectives
discussed.
This
review
aims
provide
inspiration
as
fuel.

Abstract
Since
their
seminal
discovery
in
2011,
two-dimensional
(2D)
transition
metal
carbides/nitrides
known
as
MXenes,
that
constitute
a
large
family
of
2D
materials,
have
been
targeted
toward
various
applications
due
to
outstanding
electronic
properties.
MXenes
functioning
co-catalyst
combination
with
certain
photocatalysts
applied
photocatalytic
systems
enhance
photogenerated
charge
separation,
suppress
rapid
recombination,
and
convert
solar
energy
into
chemical
or
use
it
the
degradation
organic
compounds.
The
performance
greatly
depends
on
composition
morphology
photocatalyst,
which,
turn,
are
determined
by
method
preparation
used.
Here,
we
review
four
different
synthesis
methods
(mechanical
mixing,
self-assembly,
situ
decoration,
oxidation)
reported
for
view
application
photocatalysis.
In
addition,
working
mechanism
photocatalysis
is
discussed
an
outlook
future
research
also
provided.

Nanomaterials
