Tungsten trioxide (WO3) is mainly studied as an electrochromic material and received attention due to N-type oxide-based semiconductors. The magnetic, structural, optical behavior of pristine WO3 gadolinium (Gd)-doped are being investigated using density functional theory. For exchange-correlation potential energy, generalized gradient approximation (GGA+U) used in our calculations, where U the Hubbard potential. estimated bandgap pure 2.5 eV. After doping Gd, some states cross Fermi level, acts a degenerate semiconductor with 2 eV bandgap. Spin-polarized calculations show that system antiferromagnetic its ground state. semiconductor, there between valence conduction bands. Gd-doped WO3's band structure shows few across which means metal or semimetal. becomes energy difference ferromagnetic (FM) (AFM) configurations negative, so AFM. nonmagnetic, magnetic moment after Gd 9.5599575 μB.
