Polymer-supported selenium has been reported as a heterogeneous catalyst that is easily separated from the reaction system, thereby making recovery and reuse of more convenient. However, utilization polymer-supported in preparation catalysts not restricted to aforementioned technical advantages. Recent studies have shown small-molecule organoselenium significant performance differences, leading distinct mechanisms, which offer opportunities for development new organic reactions.

Highly crystalline K-intercalated Se/C was fabricated by calcining methylselenized glucose with KBr being followed the subsequent water washing. It could catalyze selective oxidation reaction of β-ionone using O 2 as mild oxidant.

A tetrabutylammonium tribromide-mediated three-component reaction of alkenes, diselenides, and sulfoximines has been established herein, providing direct metal-free access to diverse β-arylseleno sulfoximine derivatives. This regioselective sulfoximido-selenization protocol proceeds efficiently under mild ambient conditions with generally good yields. strategy is featured by step atom economy, practicability, a broad substrate scope, gram-scale synthesis.

A scalable and operationally simple on water seleno-mediated reduction of nitroarenes to the respective aryl amines with NaBH4 is described. The reaction proceeds under transition metal-free conditions promoted by formation Na2 Se, which effective reducing agent involved in mechanism. This mechanistic information enabled development a mild -free protocol for selective nitro derivatives bearing labile moieties, including nitrocarbonyl compounds. selenium-containing aqueous phase can be successfully reused up four cycles, thus further improving efficiency disclosed.

Oxidative cracking reaction of alkenes is applied not only in the synthesis carbonyl compounds, but also biomass conversion and degradation organic pollutants.It an chemical with potential industrial application value.Developing a suitable catalyst to promote using molecular oxygen as cheap safe oxidant under mild conditions meaningful research topic interdisciplinary field chemistry material chemistry.In this work, Se/Fe/PCN was designed prepared.The experimental results showed that excellent catalytic activity for oxidative styrene derivatives.Notably, selectivity good, aldehydes product could reach 70%~90%.The magnetically separable, be reused next turn reaction.

We describe here for the first time synthesis of 2-(chalcogenyl)-3H-benzo[f]chromenes and new 3-(phenylselanyl)-2H-chromenes by radical or electrophilic cyclization propargylic aryl ethers in presence diorganyl diselenides ditellurides using Oxone as a green oxidant acetonitrile solvent sealed tube at 100 °C. In this study, thirty-one chalcogenylchromenes with broad substrate scope were prepared moderate to excellent yields (50-98%), including compounds derived from natural products.

A dual catalytic approach combining photocatalyst and selenium-π-acid synergy has been used to cyclized of N-propargylamides. This method offers readily access oxazole aldehydes under chemical oxidant-free conditions with low catalyst loadings, where air acts as a terminal gratuitous oxidant. The reaction is demonstrated range substrates, including aryl alkyl propargyl amides, in the late-stage functionalization several amide-containing drug molecules. Mechanistic studies suggest that acridinium able oxidize diselenide generate singlet oxygen (1 O2 ), which responsible for this transformation.
