Microorganisms produce secondary metabolites to survive under stressful conditions. The effect of drought and heat stress on fungi isolated from Arabian desert soil during the hot (ca 40°C) cool 10°C) seasons was studied using genome mining approach. presence three stress-related genes (calmodulin, polyketide synthase beta tubulin) analyzed molecularly specific primers. in compared their antimicrobial (ten bacterial or fungal pathogens) anticancer (liver, cervical breast) properties production thermostable enzymes (phytase xylanase). appeared be present sequence obtained summer, while none were winter. Appreciable differences observed enzyme activities, with summer activities high winter low. antagonistic A. niger relatively stable varying, those P. chrysogenum consistently higher than seemed correlate highly chrysogenum, had active isolates without any genes. season deserts yields biological useful biotechnological solutions.

The current study attempted to evaluate the antagonistic activity of compounds isolated and purified from marine algae Padina arborescens during cultivation. were collected on a filter, concentrated ODS columns separated by HPLC. Two peaks that showed competitive progesterone binding with membrane receptor α (mPRα) purified. Their physiological was further uncovered in vitro vivo oocyte maturation ovulation-inducing assays using zebrafish. inhibited induction ovulation. Moreover, results have against mPRα. mPRα would be considered as new pharmaceutical candidate.

Sponges are prolific producers of specialized metabolites with unique structural scaffolds. Their chemical diversity has always inspired natural product chemists working in drug discovery. As part their metabolic filter-feeding activities, sponges known to release molecules, possibly including metabolites. These released "Exo-Metabolites" (EMs) may be considered as new reservoirs that could collected from the water column while preserving marine biodiversity. The present work aims determine proportion and EMs by sponge
