Abstract
The
structural

describe

synthesis

motifs
fused
by

fragment.

compounds

(NIR‐II)

Different
chemoselectivities
of
phenols
and
thiophenols
were
observed
in
a
Tf2O-promoted
C3
functionalization
simple
anthranils.
The
reaction
anthranils
gives
3-aryl
via
C–C
bond
formation,
whereas
afford
3-thio
through
C–S
formation.
Both
reactions
have
broad
substrate
scope
tolerate
wide
range
functional
groups,
affording
the
corresponding
products
with
specific
chemoselectivity.

Abstract
Benzoisoxazoles,
with
a
distinctive
10‐π‐electron
system
and
significant
polarity,
readily
trigger
N
−O
bond
cleavage,
enabling
multifaceted
applications
in
organic
synthesis.
Over
the
past
decade,
exponentially
increased
use
of
benzoisoxazoles
towards
synthesis
highly
valuable
‐containing
scaffolds,
especially
‐heterocycles,
has
garnered
substantial
attention.
In
this
review,
we
summarize
recent
developments
transformation
2,1‐
1,2‐benzoisoxazoles
since
2015,
highlighting
neglected
resemblances
these
two
nitroxy
heterocycles.
Key
processes
assorted
reactions
benzoisoxazoles,
including
mechanisms,
scope,
catalyst‐controlled
chemodivergence,
current
limitations,
developmental
prospects,
are
also
introduced
discussed.
