Solar-driven CO2 conversion into high-value-added chemicals, powered by photovoltaics, is a promising technology for alleviating the global energy crisis and achieving carbon neutrality. However, most of these endeavors focus on electroreduction to small-molecule fuels such as CO ethanol. In this paper, inspired photosynthesis green plants artificial value-added fuel, electrocarboxylation bromobenzene (BB) with generate carboxylation product methyl benzoate (MB) demonstrated. Using two series-connected dye-sensitized photovoltaics high-performance catalyst Ag electrodes, our system achieves 61.1% Faraday efficiency (FE) MB stability whole up 4 h. addition, work provides approach high-value chemicals using renewable sources.

Herein, a photocatalytic strategy for the synthesis of succinic acids by alkene dicarboxylation with carbon dioxide (CO2) and formate salt as synergistic sources is described. The acts both C1 source reductant in reaction catalytic amount 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) hydrogen atom transfer reagent. Various mono-, di-, trisubstituted alkenes, acrylate, acrylamide, indole derivatives could be converted to corresponding diacids, which provided potential useful applications medicinal chemistry polymer industry.

Herein, we report an electrochemical protocol for the dicarboxylation of aryl alkynes using CO2. With a graphite rod as cathode and Al sacrificial anode, series valuable butenedioic acids are obtained in moderate to excellent yields with E/Z ratio up 50:1. This method features high E-selectivity, step atom economy, easy scalability, nice substrate scope, which renders it appealing promising applications organic synthesis materials chemistry.

Abstract CO 2 radical anion (CO ⋅ − ) is a highly reductive species ( E red =−2.2 V vs SCE), which can undergo Giese addition to an unsaturated C−C bond and install carbonyl group synthesize acids. Normally, it has been generated through the direct reduction of gas or from formate salts via HAT (hydrogen atom transfer) as BDE (bond dissociation energy) C−H in only around 86 kcal/mol.
