Lab-on-chip (LoC) platforms are disruptive technologies in analytical chemistry and bioengineering known to enable miniaturised sensitive analysis of complex biological chemical samples. Electrochemical detection became one the most explored among several readout methods, hence its versatility, robustness, straightforward execution, sensitivity, portability. Therefore, this brief review critically examines principles, applications, prospects electrochemical LoC technologies, highlighting significance advancing various fields, including clinical diagnostics, environmental monitoring, drug discovery.
