A cyclic triamide of 2,5-dibromo-4-ethylaminobenzoic acid, which has a fixed axial chirality, was prepared in racemic and enantiopure forms. The structures the corresponding crystals homochiral molecular assembly formation were analyzed from viewpoint intermolecular interactions. Although packing arrangements two types similar, difference suggested importance C═O···Br–C contact for chiral assembly. statistical analysis amides with above revealed correlation between type (hetero- or homochiral) angle adjacent molecules interacting through C═O···Br bonding. Specifically, absence aryl groups, O···Br–C angles closer to 180° facilitated molecule pairs into arrangement. In contrast, opposite trend observed presence one more groups. Furthermore, displayed different preferences angle, indicating its determining crystal chirality. Our approach extended scope previously reported method demonstrated applicability compounds other skeletons.
