ABSTRACT Metal‐enhanced fluorescence (MEF) represents a captivating phenomenon that transpires when fluorophores are situated in close vicinity to the surface of metallic nanostructures, leading nuanced augmentation their fluorescent characteristics. Given its efficacy enhancing excitation rates, quantum yield, and photostability, MEF has firmly established itself as highly valuable tool for augmenting biosensor sensitivity, bioimaging clarity, intensifying therapeutic responses. This work reported gold nanoparticles (AuNPs)-based colorimetric immunoassay with the Cu-based metal–organic framework (MOF) to load pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) for catalytic oxidation of cysteine. Metal nanoplasmonics has emerged as a transformative platform for sub-diffraction-limited light manipulation, owing to its unique capability confine and enhance optical fields at the nanoscale. While significant progress been made in understanding plasmon-enhanced phenomena over past two decades, theoretical investigations into how nanoscale dielectric environments influence properties of metallic plasmonic nanostructures remain limited. In this work, we employ quantum hydrodynamic model develop unified approach analyzing nonlocal field effects metal–dielectric nanowire systems. Our findings demonstrate that permittivity exerts long-range on resonance frequency nanostructures, with higher constants inducing redshift plasmon frequency. Furthermore, inter-wire spacing between nanowires critically affects distribution enhancement. Notably, decreasing dielectric–metal proximity does not universally light-field amplification. A primary factor contributing observation is interfacial screening alters mode’s effective wavelength. These results promise establish foundational design principles advanced nanophotonic devices.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most lethal form of malignant brain tumor, known for its high infiltration, aggressiveness, and poor prognosis. Second near-infrared (NIR-II, 1000-1700 nm) phototheranostic agents bring intriguing opportunities GBM management owing to their noninvasive nature, controllability, deeper tissue penetration. Herein, an amphiphilic NIR-II luminogen (PEG-TD) with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristics, along hydrophobic counterpart (C6-TD), was meticulously synthesized. Specifically, PEG-TD nanoparticles (NPs), formed through straightforward self-assembly, exhibited superior stability, simplicity, robust reactive oxygen species production efficiency, excellent photothermal conversion compared C6-TD NPs, which were fabricated via coassembly DSPE-mPEG, primarily attributed distinct molecular arrangements within forming aggregates. The inherent advantages NPs led significant therapeutic efficacy against GL261 cells under 808 nm laser irradiation. Eventually, fluorescence/photothermal duplex imaging-guided combined photodynamic/photothermal therapy successfully performed in orthotopic glioblastoma mouse model minimal adverse effects.
