A cholic acid-modified ruthenium( ii ) (Ru1) photosensitizer was synthesized. Ru1 induced pyroptosis and sequentially engaged the downstream proteins p-TBK1 p-IRF3 within STING pathway, thus promoting elicitation of tumor immune responses.

Ferrocidiphenols possessing appropriate substituents in the aliphatic chain have very promising anticancer properties, but a systematic approach to deciphering their diversified metabolic behavior has so far been lacking. Herein, we show that series of novel ferrocidiphenols bearing different hydroxyalkyl exhibit strong activity as revealed range vitro and vivo experiments. Moreover, they display oxidative transformation profiles distinct from those previous complexes, shown by use chemical enzymatic methods cellulo metabolism studies. In view this phenomenon, unprecedented chemo-evolutionary sequences connect all ferrocidiphenol-related intermediates analogues established. addition, comprehensive density functional theory (DFT) study performed decipher diversification these complexes demonstrate delicate modulation carbenium ions ferrocenyl moiety, via either α- or β-positional participation.
