ABSTRACT This study evaluates the efficacy of Bifidobacterium longum subsp. BL21 in mitigating symptoms polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) DHT-induced PCOS model mice. It focuses on BL21’s role modulating metabolic dysregulation, inflammation, and neuroprotection via gut–brain–ovary axis. Employing an 8-week treatment regimen, this research assessed effects prenatal androgen-induced ICR Evaluations included body weight, glucose tolerance tests, serum analyses BDNF, inflammatory markers, sex hormone levels, 16S rRNA gene sequencing for gut microbiota diversity composition. Twenty-four mice with induced served as subjects to examine probiotic’s impact. Mice were administered a daily oral dose 1 × 10 9 CFU continuously total 8 weeks. significantly enhanced levels ( P < 0.05), particularly those follicle-stimulating (FSH) estradiol (E2), indicating improved function offering novel approach. The intervention notably curbed weight gain 0.05). reduced markers such interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), lipopolysaccharides (LPS), while increasing IL-10, FSH, E2 0.05 all). also enriched diversity, enhancing populations Lactobacillus . Correlation underscored positive shifts linked beneficial hormonal profiles. shows promise alleviating through regulation, inflammation reduction, neuroprotection, validating its potential integrated therapeutic strategies. IMPORTANCE Polycystic is prevalent endocrine disorder affecting women reproductive age, characterized by irregularities, imbalances, chronic inflammation. Existing treatments are often inadequate, addressing without targeting underlying etiological factors. investigation probiotic offers approach potentially regulating could lead innovative strategies that not only manage but reverse multifaceted PCOS, quality life health.

ABSTRACT Aim and Introduction Diabetes prediabetes pose significant global public health challenges. Sex steroids, particularly testosterone estradiol, play crucial roles in various metabolic processes. This study investigates the relationship between sex hormone levels long‐term mortality adults with diabetes, as well those without glucose intolerance. Material Methods retrospective cohort utilized data from NHANES 2013–2016, including aged 50–79 across prediabetic, diabetic, non‐diabetic groups. Serum testosterone, their ratios (T/E) were analyzed. The primary outcomes all‐cause CVD tracked until December 2019. Cox regression models estimated associations risks. Results included 3,665 participants (male: 2,140; female: 1,775). In males prediabetes, higher estradiol (adjusted hazard ratio [aHR] = 0.17, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.07–0.43) or (aHR 0.39, CI: 0.31–0.50) was significantly associated lower risk of mortality. Higher 0.12, 0.04–0.32) 0.36, 0.27–0.48) risk. females there a association 0.22, 0.06–0.83) T/E 0.18, 0.04–0.73) reduced Conclusions identifies some novel men women different glycemic statuses. These findings suggest potential protective role hormones individuals altered metabolism, gender difference, warranting further investigation.
