Polyoxometalate (POM) based binary and ternary hybrids, including the combination of POMs, semiconductors, nanostructured carbon (carbon nanotube (CNT), graphene, dots et al.) metal nanoparticles (MNPs), are key materials in photoelectrocatalysis. POM play a role constructing nanohybrids contributing to their photoelectrochemical catalytic properties. These composites combine properties from two or three functional nanoscale materials, resulting wider range applications, catalysis, energy conversion storage, molecular sensors electronics. Herein, we summarize latest progress (POM/Metal, POM/semiconductor POM/nanocarbon) (Metal/POM/nanocarbon) with focus on for photocatalysis, fuel cells, biosensors devices. Current applications critically assessed promising future target systems discussed.

Abstract Polyoxometalate‐based frameworks, as a kind of material constructed by polyoxometalates (POMs), metal ions or clusters, organic ligands, are combined both the advantages oxygen‐rich POMs and porous metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) within one single system. This integration greatly expands their potential applications compared to individual MOFs. Particularly for photocatalysis, narrow light absorption range typical units in ultraviolet region hinders extensive uses visible‐light‐driven photocatalysts. However, incorporation photoactive into POMs‐based can be considered an effective approach overcome this limitation. In paper, we review selected examples recent progress based on POM‐based along with construction strategies various areas mainly including water splitting, CO 2 reduction, synthesis also selective coupling reactions.

By utilizing the photocatalysis of a polyoxometalate, [γ-PV 2 W 10 O 40 ] 5− , we developed system for multiple-stimuli-responsive polymer degradation that allows various polymers when multiple stimuli, specifically, light and Cl − are present.

Seeking noble-metal-free catalysts for efficient synthesis of aryl nitriles under mild conditions poses a significant challenge due to the use hypertoxic cyanides or high-pressure/temperature NH3/O2 in conventional processes. Herein, we developed novel framework 1 assembled by [Ni72] nanocages with excellent solvents/pH stability. To investigate structure–activity relationship catalytic performance, several isostructural MOFs different molar ratios Ni/Cu doping Cu2+ into (Ni0.59Cu0.41 (2), Ni0.81Cu0.19 (3), Ni0.88Cu0.12 (4), and Ni0.92Cu0.08 (5)) were prepared. Catalytic studies revealed that catalyst 3 exhibited remarkable performance nitriles, utilizing formamide alternative NaCN/KCN. Notably, achieved an TOF value 9.8 h–1. Furthermore, demonstrated its applicability gram-scale experiment maintained even after six recycling cycles, owing high stability resulting from electrostatic orbital interactions between Ni center ligands as well large SOMO–LUMO energy gap supported DFT calculations. Control experiments calculations further originated synergistic effect Ni/Cu. Importantly, this work not only provides highly feasible method construct stable containing multinuclear exceptional but also represents first example heterogeneous using cyanide source.

In this work, we fabricated a TiO2 thin film, and the same film was modified with an Anderson aluminum polyoxometalate (TiO2-AlPOM). Physical-chemical characterization of catalysts showed significant change in morphological optical properties films after surface modification. We applied kinetic isothermal models to methylene blue (MB) adsorption process on both catalysts. The pseudo-second order model best fitting for results; qe (mg/g) 11.9 14.6 TiO2-AlPOM films, k2 (g mg-1 min-1) 16.3 × 10-2 28.2 films.
