Photocatalytic reactive oxygen species (ROS) evolution with Bi5O7I still suffers from sluggish charge carrier dynamics and limited light absorption. Herein, abundant vacancies (OVs) were introduced into the microflower-like Bi5O7I, its ROS generation toward organic dye degradation under synergistic effect of visible ultrasound irradiation was investigated. Benefiting broadened visible-light absorption range, stronger piezoresponse, higher transport efficiency in OV-enriched (2-PEG-Bi5O7I), both photocatalytic piezocatalytic degradations improved. More importantly, piezo-photocatalytic performance greater than sum corresponding photocatalysis piezocatalysis, indicating a strong coupling effect. In addition, yield •O2– 2-PEG-Bi5O7I 1.5 times that it also 4.3 3.1 single respectively. Interestingly, no noticeable •OH detected case irradiation, while yields 3.6 5.3 μmol g–1 h–1, respectively, surpassing pristine as well. This work advances between piezocatalysis new strategy for efficient discloses positive role improving multiresponsive catalysis.

Abstract Polyoxometalate‐based frameworks, as a kind of material constructed by polyoxometalates (POMs), metal ions or clusters, organic ligands, are combined both the advantages oxygen‐rich POMs and porous metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) within one single system. This integration greatly expands their potential applications compared to individual MOFs. Particularly for photocatalysis, narrow light absorption range typical units in ultraviolet region hinders extensive uses visible‐light‐driven photocatalysts. However, incorporation photoactive into POMs‐based can be considered an effective approach overcome this limitation. In paper, we review selected examples recent progress based on POM‐based along with construction strategies various areas mainly including water splitting, CO 2 reduction, synthesis also selective coupling reactions.
