Abstract Hydrogels are dynamically evolving 3D networks composed of hydrophilic polymer scaffolds with significant applications in the healthcare and environmental sectors. Notably, protein‐based hydrogels mimic extracellular matrix, promoting cell adhesion. Further enhancing proliferation within these matrix‐metalloproteinase‐triggered amino acid motifs. Integration cell‐friendly modules like peptides proteins expands hydrogel functionality. These exceptional properties position for diverse applications, including biomedicine, biosensors, remediation, food industry. The increased environmental presence of micro-/nanoplastics (MNPLs) and the potential health risks associated with their exposure classify them as pollutants special concerns. Consequently, there is an urgent need to investigate secondary MNPLs. In this context, using "true-to-life" MNPLs, resulting from laboratory degradation plastic goods, may be a sound approach. These non-commercial MNPLs must labeled track presence/journeys inside cells or organisms. Because cell internalization commonly analyzed fluorescence techniques, use fluorescent dyes method label them. Five different compounds comprising two chemical (Nile Red Rhodamine-B), one optical brightener (Opticol), industrial (Amarillo Luminoso iDye PolyPink) were tested determine for such applications. A charge transfer gel from a cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and an additive 6-aminocaproic acid (6-ACA), in two-component solvent mixture at critical composition of 3 : 1 v/v water toluene is reported. The pale yellow colour the arising interactions between amine group (–NH 2 ) hexylamine ammonium ion (N + CTAB was confirmed after performing set trial experiments with CTAB-heptanoic CTAB-hexylamine systems. process gelation, phase development its microstructure were investigated using spectroscopy, microscopy, small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) techniques. formed lamellar organization while preserving loose-packed arrangement bilayer 6-ACA molecules, maintaining H-bonding along significant interactions. SAXS pattern revealed distinct crystalline form gel, indicating stable characterized by alternating layers amorphous structures. This unique gelation nature inferred interplanar spacings, demonstrating non-conducive properties highly polar solvents such as methanol ethanol, well less like cyclohexane carbon tetrachloride, when organic polarity altered presence mixed amphiphilic system.

Chemical depolymerization and recycling of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) constitute a sustainable, resource-efficient, environmentally beneficial approach, which requires the development efficient heterogeneous catalysts. Herein, polyoxometalate(POM)-based zinc-organic networks were synthesized as dual-site acid catalysts for alcoholysis PET into value-added terephthalic (TPA) product, with formulas [Zn2(μ2-Cl)(H2O)2(DTAB)3][PW12O40]·4H2O (1), [Zn2(DTAB)4][SiW12O40]·4H2O (2), [Zn2(H2O)4(DTAB)2.5][HBW12O40]·8H2O (3) (DTAB = 1,4-di(4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl)benzene). Structural analysis showed that compounds 1 2 composed 2D Zn-ligand embedded POM clusters in an "egg-in-a-box" manner compound 3 consisted 3D POM-based host-guest framework constructed by {Zn2(H2O)4(N-N)3} units [HBW12O40]4- clusters. Three incorporate Zn2+ Lewis centers heteropolytungstate clusters, having strength order > 2. When employed catalysts, three exhibited catalytic performance TPA >92% conversion rate >94% selectivity along excellent recyclability structural stability. This work offers novel perspective upcycling plastic waste.

Microplastics and nanoplastics (MNPs) are emerging contaminants in drinking water sources that pose serious risks to human health ecosystems. Several removal strategies, such as adsorption, exist but present challenges for their industrial scalability. This review provides a concise overview of MNP adsorption mechanisms highlights the limited critical exploration column literature, emphasizing its importance large-scale applications. Special attention is given carbon-based materials due cost-effectiveness, environmental friendliness sustainability.
