The vigorous development of micro–nano satellites urgently requires satellite-borne propulsion systems as support. Pulsed laser ablation micro-propulsion can meet these high demands. Ammonium dinitramide (ADN), a green monopropellant, serve the working substance for ablation. This work investigated performance liquid propellants composed ADN and water with different mass fractions, aiming to clarify enhancement effect chemical energy. Through single-pulse impulse measurement, results show that 70 wt.% had maximum specific 167.55 s, 19% increase compared H2O. established semi-empirical model fits well experimental data effectively explain variations in patterns propulsion’s parameters. energy’s actual rate contribution kinetic energy was positively correlated ADN’s fraction negatively energy, an 36% at 60 mJ. Furthermore, based on relationship between efficiency, chemical-specific it found efficiency be improved by increasing reducing while ensuring breakdown. provides scientific approach quantitatively analyze micro-ablation, which is expected extended other energetic propellants.
