Smart

Abstract
The
studies
of
structure‐property
relationship
in
ionic
liquid
monomers
(ILMs)
and
their
corresponding
poly(ionic
liquid)s
(PILs)
are
required
to
gain
deeper
understanding
tunable
physical,
chemical,
mechanical
properties.
In
this
work,
a
series
2‐(alkyldimethylammonium)ethyl
methacrylate
bromide
([R‐DMAEMA][Br])
ILMs
synthesized
followed
by
free‐radical
polymerization
obtain
the
analogous
PILs
with
alkyl
chains
varying
lengths.
introduction
long
chain
induces
crystallinity
these
ILMs,
whose
melting
temperature,
enthalpy
fusion,
increase
increasing
length
alkyl‐chain.
Exchange
Br
−
bulkier
NTf
2
leads
substantial
change
crystalline
behavior
ILMs.

Abstract
Actuator
systems
are
among
the
most
noteworthy
aspects

rapidly
expanding
field
smart
and
multifunctional
materials,
which
is
having
a
substantial
impact
on

application
areas.
Ionic
liquids
(ILs)
particularly
relevant
option
for
development
hybrid
materials
actuator
applications,
because
their
simple
processing
tailored
response.
This
review
work
focuses
ionic
liquid‐based
polymer
blends
soft
applications.
The
main
properties

highlighted
