To fulfill the current circular economy concept, academic and industrial communities are devoting significant efforts to plastic materials’ end-of-life. Unlike thermoplastics, which easy recover re-valorize, recycling thermosets is still difficult challenging. Conversely, because of their network structure, thermosetting polymer systems exhibit peculiar features that make these materials preferable for several applications where high mechanical properties, chemical inertness, thermal stability, among others, demanded. In this view, vitrimers have quite recently attracted attention scientific community, as they can form dynamic covalent adaptive networks provide properties typical while keeping possibility being processed (and, therefore, mechanically recycled) beyond a certain temperature. This review aims an overview vitrimers, elucidating most recent advances posing some perspectives forthcoming years.

ABSTRACT Designing and preparing bio‐based epoxy monomers to substitute hazardous nonrenewable bisphenol A (BPA)‐type epoxide are important for the development of new resins under concept healthy sustainable concept. In this work, a “green” bifunctionality monomer derived from eugenol (EGE‐EP) was fabricated by epoxidation functionalization unsaturated double bond as well using epichlorohydrin epoxidize phenolic hydroxyl group. The effects different hardeners on properties EGE‐EP were analyzed, E51 cured with same employed reference. results indicate that EGE‐EP/hardeners present desired curing behavior, mechanical performances, thermal stability which comparable commercial E51/hardeners resin. Most importantly, all EP/hardeners samples exhibit lower onset temperature compared systems reflecting faster mixtures. Meanwhile, an obvious improvement char yield is found in contrast thus possessing potential flame retardancy applications. This study proposes innovative path prepare alternative BPA‐type epoxide, significance eco‐friendly high‐value utilization biomass.

Combining high heat resistance and green sustainability is a great challenge in developing shape memory epoxy resins. Herein, starting from synthesizing fully biobased trifunctional compound (ER), kind of resin system (EFTx, where x the molar ratio carboxyl to groups) developed. The effects on structure properties EFTx resins were systematically investigated. Results show that cured have excellent resistance, mechanical properties, performance, recycle ability. As increases, glass transition temperature (Tg) initial thermal decomposition (Tdi) decrease while both self-healing efficiency remolding increase. Tg storage modulus each are much higher than those reported Among resins, EFT1.0 shows best-integrated performance; specifically, its Tg, Tdi, tensile strength, as 156 °C, 293 40.99 MPa, 90.5%, respectively, meanwhile it also has outstanding property reflected by fixation (Rf = 100%) recovery (Rr 97.8%) under bend-recovery experiments well Rf (93.2%) Rr (66.1%) after four cycles. integrated performance attributed their unique structures combine rigid stilbene structure, furan ring, abundant ester bonds.
