Fluorescent polymeric hydrogels (FPHs) are rising stars of luminescent materials because their considerable prospects in a wide range advancing domains. However, challenges exist broadening color tunability, which is the key to developing multicolor FPHs (MFPHs) for actual applications cutting-edge frontiers. In this perspective, we summarize state-of-the-art strategies fabricating MFPHs and discuss remaining challenges.
